A Indian restaurant in Reading has been recognised by the British Curry Awards for its work supporting the local community during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Zyka owner Mr Zakir Khan won the ‘Outstanding service to local community in the pandemic’ award at this year’s online ceremony.

During the Covid-19 outbreak Mr Khan’s restaurant provided NHS staff with discounts, assisted those who needed grocery and pharmacy shopping and reached out through Facebook to those who required free meals.
